Shiloh Shiloh April 6-7, 1862 It began on a Sunday morning, and was named later a country church near the battlefield. The aggregate soldiers werent prepred for the clayey charge of Confederate soldiers. The Confederates attacked at 3 am, totally exulting the confederation troops by surprise. Bad roads and keep back contributed to the delay of Union reinforcements, but when they got there, it took them 2 days of employ to drive the Confederate troops back. No ground was gained, no strategic town was taken, all that was gained from this Union victory was the excreting of Confederate troops from much of Tennessee.
